GENERAL FILE SPECIFICATIONS

We accept Files created in any of the following applications:
- Freehand 9.0 or earlier
- Quark 4.1 or earlier
- Illustrator 9.0 or earlier
- Acrobat 4.0 or earlier
- Photoshop
- Microsoft Word and Excel

Images best supplied at 300dpi at the finished size,
in RGB (see specs below for Herald advertising)
Acceptable file suffixes:
- .eps, .tiff, .pdf, .psd, .jpg (saved at highest setting)

Logo art is best supplied as vector based art
- ie Illustrator (.eps or .ai) or Freehand files (.fh8)

FILE FORMATS FOR NEW ZEALAND HERALD REAL ESTATE ADVERTISING

Maximum requirements:
- 72 dpi
- 1500 x 1125 pixels (approx. - equivalent to 53cm x 39.5cm)
- Un-compressed file size 5MB (approx.)
- JPG file size 1.5MB (1500k- approx.)

Scans
- 200 dpi
- Landscape image: 13cm width x relative depth
- Portrait image: 18cm depth x relative width
- RGB
- Save as Maximum Quality .jpg

Final files supplied as images (.jpg, .tiff, .eps) must be CMYK to preserve black component

Final files supplied as .pdf
- fonts preferred as convert to paths
- Preserve Overprint setting
- Preserve undercolour removal and black generation

Material to be despatched by PageStore digital delivery system can be accepted as Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Quark Xpress or Freehand files (Publisher files will not be accepted). Graphics and fonts used should be collected for output, converting text to outlines wherever possible. Please include hard copy of material and full details of placement and delivery details. File corrections, where necessary, can be performed in-house or re-submitted by client. Jobs are charged according to overall dimensions, colour format and processing time. A surcharge applies to overseas delivery.
